What we keep, and why.
The short version: your numbers never leave your browser. If you buy Pro or sign in, we keep your email, what you bought and your licence key, so Pro works on your devices. Nothing is sold, and there are no ads or tracking.

Your numbers stay with you
Everything you type into the tools is saved in your own browser (its local storage). We never receive it. Clearing this site’s data in your browser deletes it.
When you buy Pro
Gumroad sells Pro for us and handles payment; we never see your card. Gumroad tells our server about each sale. Our server checks the sale with Gumroad, then keeps your email, the product and your licence key, so you can sign in on any device. Gumroad’s own privacy policy covers the purchase itself.
When you paste a licence key
Your browser checks the key with Gumroad. Our server checks it too and records the purchase in the same way, so you can sign in with that email later.
When you sign in
We email you a one-time link. We keep only a scrambled copy of it, and delete that within a day. Signing in sets one cookie, fp_sid, which keeps you signed in for 90 days. It is used for nothing else. We keep a scrambled copy of that too, never the cookie itself.
Stopping abuse
When someone asks for a sign-in link or checks a licence key, we keep a scrambled form of their IP address (and, for sign-in links, the email) for one day, so nobody can flood an inbox or guess keys.
Who helps us run this
- Cloudflare hosts the site, the database and our email forwarding.
- Gumroad handles payments and licence keys.
- Resend sends the sign-in emails.
- Google Fonts serves the fonts, and jsDelivr serves the spreadsheet tool when you download a spreadsheet. Like any site that serves files, they see your IP address.
They may process data outside your country.
How long we keep it
- Purchase records (email, product, licence key): for as long as you can use Pro, unless you ask us to delete them.
- Sessions: 90 days.
- Sign-in links and abuse counters: one day.
Your choices
You can sign out at any time. Write to hello@getthefineprint.com to get a copy of what we hold about you, correct it or delete it. If we delete your purchase record, your licence key still unlocks Pro on its own.
